Textiles East Fair

It has been along time since I last used this blog page.  So many other things to update and so little time.  This last year I have been planning, organising and holding a new event in Cambridgeshire called the Textiles East Fair and now I am doing it again this year.  All the details can be found on the new website

Christmas Event

This Thursday- 4th Dec , the whole Cranbrook site will be open late for all our valued customers to have a preview of Christmas Tree and wreaths in the Nursey. I too will be open with a new stock of sewing kits, as well as hand-made gifts by local artisans  (open hours for this day only 10am-6.30pm).
Why not pop along and enjoy a beveage in the recently refurbished tearoom and enjoy the sounds of carols being sung by the Pidley Male Voice Choir (from 4pm).

Wendy Cotteril Workshops

It has been busy over the last few days with the Wendy Cotteril workshops. These are just a small selection of the work produced by the talented learners at the workshops.

The Results of the Community Sew

Seven ladies got involved with this initiative devised by the Norris Museum, these completed hearts and embroidered postcards will now be part of the display for the Centenary Exhibition why not pop in towards the end of August and see them for yourself.  Well done to all those involved.

I am getting involved with this years exhibition at the Norris Museum,  this year they are working with the local school and community to create an exhibition to commemorate WW1.

Interested then why not help to create textile items such as reproduction embroidered postcards and pincushions. The small item will then be added to their exhibition.

Materials and inspiration provided here at The Cabin, just bring along a needle and some embroidery threads.
